The study and the analysis of finds originating from archaeological fieldwork has a particular importance for the interpretation of contexts and for the reconstruction of the ancient landscape.
Integrated with research in the field, Akhet carries out preliminary cataloguing of archaeological finds, in order to facilitate the study and the dating of the stratigraphy under investigation.
In addition, the presence of a staff specialized in research into various aspects of material culture permits the cataloguing and study of that material according to the standards laid down by the Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione (ICCD) (Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation). In responding to the varying priorities of the bodies commissioning the research, Akhet can create specific data bases for both the archiving and interrogation of the significant quantities of information obtained, with the aim of facilitating their study and management.
